Renumber Items Within a Category

This function allows you to reassign item numbers within a category, starting from a specific number. It helps maintain a clear and structured order.

How It Works:

  1. Select the desired category.

  2. Enter a starting number (e.g., 1, 10, or any other positive number).

  3. The system will assign consecutive numbers to the items in the category, starting with the entered number.

Example:

If the starting number is set to 5, the renumbering will be as follows:

Item

Old Number

New Number

Pizza Margherita

2

5

Spaghetti Bolognese

3

6

Caesar Salad

5

7

2. Reset Item Numbers

If item numbers need to be removed, they can be reset to zero for an entire category.

How It Works:

  1. Select the desired category.

  2. The system removes all assigned numbers in this category.

3. Use Cases

  • To reorganize the order of items within a category.

  • To ensure consistent numbering after menu updates.

  • To remove all numbers and start fresh.

4. Error Handling

  • The starting number must be a positive number (e.g., 1, 2, 3 …).

  • If no items exist in the category, an error message will be displayed.
